Audio Network is delighted to highlight their work with the RPO, alongside the featured artist of the month, Ray Davies, who has recorded many of his tracks with the orchestra.

Acknowledged as one of the UK’s most versatile of all the orchestras, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) enjoys an international reputation for bringing audiences worldwide first-class performances and the highest possible standards of music-making across a diverse range of musical repertoire.

Audio Network Creative Director, Andrew Sunnucks said, “There is genuinely no substitute for great players and this is why we record with the RPO at Abbey Road Studios. As our July/August theme says, why settle for mediocre when you can have a masterpiece?”.

The featured artist for July/August, Ray Davies has recorded many of his tracks with the RPO. He started life as one of the top trumpet players in the world and is now recognised as one of the most accomplished composers of his era. He has won many prestigious awards, including the coveted Grand Prix prize for composition.

Davies said, “Music is not work. I really enjoy what I do for a living and writing for Audio Network is terrific because they always give me a really specific brief. They know exactly what they want, which makes it much easier for me to deliver. It couldn’t work any better.”

Ray is currently Chairman of the Gold Badge Awards for the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters. He is also Chairman of the PRS Members Fund.
